WELCOME
-------
The fonts in this file are intended for use in conjunction
with Publishing Partner (TM) desktop publishing program, Version
1.01 (or greater) and the printer drivers released by Soft Logik
in March, 1987. If you do not have PP V1.01, contact Soft Logik for
an update. If you do not have the newer released print drivers,
contact your local Atari user group. The print drivers are in
public domain and are also available for download from any
information service, i.e. CompuServe, GEnie, Delphi, etc.
Inside this arc'd file will be several files as follows:
*.PFT - Any file with this extension is a Printer Font
*.CFT - Screen font file for use with a color monitor
*.FNT - Screen font file for use with monochrome
*.DOC - These are sample documents (if any) SAVEd in the PP
format. Unless otherwise noted in a README.TXT file
inside a font folder, these samples will only contain
the new font and the standard, HELVETICA. These files
must be LOADed into PP to be viewed.
*.TXT - Standard ASCII text files (if any) which may provide
additional information, hints & tips, etc. These files
may be shown on the screen or printed from the desk top.
TO USE FONTS
------------
Generally, both the Printer Font and the Screen Font should
reside on the same disk as your document and the PP program files.
Copy the Printer Font (.PFT) and the Screen Font (.FNT OR .CFT) to
your working disk. The files are not copy protected. If you are
using a monochrome monitor, which is recommended, run PP and load
fonts as usual. If you are using a color monitor, after you copy
the Screen Font (.CFT) to your working disk, change the extender
from ????????.CFT to ????????.FNT. Proceed as usual. In all
cases the filename for both fonts (.PFT & .FNT) MUST be the same,
except for the extender. That's all there is to it! Remember,
documents created in color cannot be used in monochrome and visa-
versa.
GENERAL INFORMATION
-------------------
When SoftLogic generously released their font editor into
public domain last year, I toyed around with it. You may recall
that at the time there were hardly any fonts available. I did one
called University Roman which was uploaded to the services and was
well received (even though it was far from perfect). Since that
time I have been most fortunate to sell several of my fonts to
SoftLogik, some of which you may be using.
The present font (Letter Gothic) was one of my earlier
efforts. It is sans-serif, letter quality (as opposed to
decorative) and proportional spaced. It is similar to the Letter
Gothic found on electric typewriters or Helvetica Narrow.
To the best of my knowledge, it works in both monochrome and
color. There are thick and thin fonts for better dot matrix
printing. It should be noted that there are no foreign characters.
I have used the font and it prints quite nicely. It is being
released to PD in celebration of the establishment of the new
SoftLogik RT on GEnie.
Fonts are copyrighted by FONTastic! Enterprises. All rights

distribute to anyone, as long as all the files (including this
one) are distributed together. Although these programs are
believed to be in good working order, neither I nor FONTastic!

or incurred by use of these products. That's it for the legalese -
please enjoy!
